Contemporary Art is Swell.

Corpus Christi is the hometown of Swell Artspace.  Owned and operated by local artist, John Medina, Swell was established in March of 2004 in an effort to make contemporary art more accessible to Corpus Christi.  Swell showcases fresh artistic talent in a venue that allows for investigation and experimentation.  The idea is that new and exciting artists will be showcased in  a city and venue that may have otherwise been overlooked.  

Swell represents an effort to build an all-inclusive community of artists and art appreciators, and to begin a dialog in Corpus Christi about contemporary art.  Art, music, film and people are the ingredients.  Swell is the catalyst.
